Welcome to the TRACKER CENTRAL, The place where we share music tracker culture. What even is a MUSIC TRACKER? As wikipedia suggests, a music tracker (tracker for short) is a type of sequencer for creating music. It's not your usual type of sequencer though, it has a twist. The way it works is very similar to coding, you write some instructions and it starts reading it from top to bottom. It's composed of columns, which were the NOTES column (Sets the frequency of the specified sample), INSTRUMENT column (Sets the specified sample), VOLUME column (Specifies the volume and sometimes other aspects of a note) and the EFFECTS column (Vibrato, Portamento, Note cut, Note delay, etc...) It might work differently in other trackers, there is a surprising amount of them around the internet! All the way back to 1987, EAS Computer technik released The Ultimate Soundtracker as a commercial product. The idea of text being able to bring sound to life was so good that there were starting to rise shareware clones of Ultimate Soundtracker, for example: NoiseTracker. Who is "We"?
